Mikkel Werling
Mikkel Werling is a PhD Fellow at the University of Copenhagen, working with the Department of Hematology at Rigshospitalet and the Danish Cancer Institute. His research centers on combining machine learning with Danish national registry data to improve prognostic modeling in hematological malignancies. He has been one of the key contributors to building DALY-CARE, a national registry resource linking diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes to facilitate data science research in hematology.
A central idea running through his work is how to improve predictive capabilities by modeling diseases jointly rather than in isolation. His current work focuses on developing foundation models for EHR data in hematology to enable better predictions even for rare cohorts.
