Riccardo Soffietti
Riccardo Soffietti is Emeritus Professor of Neurology at the University of Turin and Former Head of Department of Neuro-Oncology at the University Hospital in Turin, Italy. He is now Director of the CNS Metastasis Program at the Candiolo Cancer Institute, Turin.
Professor Soffietti was a Founding Member of the European Association for Neuro-Oncology (EANO), and held positions such as President of EANO, Chairperson of Scientific Panel of Neuro-Oncology of European Academy of Neurology (EAN) and Research Group of Neuro-Oncology of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN), Chair of Education Committee of EAN and Leader of Response Assessment in Neuro-Oncology (RANO) Group on Liquid Biopsy. He was Member of the Editorial Committee of WHO Classification of CNS Tumors 2021, and Executive Editor of Neuro-Oncology and Section Editor of Current Opinion in Neurology. He published 250 papers in highly impacted scientific journals, 16 books and 40 chapters in books.
Prof. Soffietti received the Award for Excellence in Clinical Research from SNO (US), Life Achievement Award in Neuro-Oncology from EANO and in 2026 the Golgi Award from EAN. Since 2022 he is President of Cancersucks APS non-profit Association sponsoring research in brain tumors and supporting patients and families.
