Maja Sjödahl

Maja Sjödahl, MSc, is a PhD Candidate in Neurochemistry at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Stockholm University, where her research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and the mechanisms underlying APOE4-associated risk.

Her work explores how peripheral biology, particularly liver function, interacts with the brain in neurodegeneration. Using a translational approach, she investigates APOE-driven changes in the hepatic proteome and transcriptome, as well as the role of the liver in amyloid-beta metabolism and clearance.

Alongside her doctoral studies, she serves as Secretary and Privacy Officer for the International Society for Molecular Neurodegeneration (ISMND), where they promote international exchange of research ideas through conferences and webinars.
