Pezhman Alavinejad
Pezhman Alavinejad, MD, is Associate Professor in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in Iran while living in Copenhagen, Denmark. He participates in education of medical students and supervises internal medicine residents and gastrointestinal fellows. Furthermore, he is president of the Khuzestan Celiac Society. He has participated in more than 100 medical publications and his main interest and focus is inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
He graduated as general physician (MD) from Tehran University in 1998. Then, he worked as GP up to September 2001 whereafter he got accepted as internal medicine resident at Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, and graduated as internist in 2005. He worked as internist for 4 years and was accepted in 2009 for a gastrointestinal and hepatology fellowship. He started the fellowship in September 2009 and finished the course in September 2011.
He has been an AGA member since 2013 and in 2015 he was selected for the WEO Emerging Stars Program. In February 2022, he got certified a American Gastroenterology Association Fellowship (AGAF).
