Sigrid S. Skånland

Sigrid S. Skånland, PhD, is a project leader and researcher at the Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital, Norway. She received her PhD from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Oslo in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Kirsten Sandvig. She then won an EMBO long-term fellowship to do a postdoc with Prof. Ivan Dikic at Goethe University School of Medicine in Frankfurt, Germany.

In 2011, she returned to Oslo where she joined the group of Prof. Kjetil Taskén. Here, Skånland has established her own research group, which focuses on developing functional precision medicine for patients with hematologic malignancies. Skånland has a strong research profile in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and is the coordinator of the EU-funded European consortium CLL-CLUE, which aims to tailor the targeted treatment of CLL.
